What is ThisVidSave?

ThisVidSave is a free ThisVid downloader that runs in your browser. Paste the link to a public video and it shows every quality that video comes in, plus an audio-only M4A and the thumbnail image. Pick the one you want and it saves to your phone or computer. There's no account to make and nothing to install.

If you've ever tried to download a video from ThisVid and ended up buried in pop-ups and fake buttons, this is meant to be the opposite. It's a simple thisvid saver: one box, one button, and a file at the end of it.

How to download a video from ThisVid

1. Open the video on ThisVid and copy its link from the address bar. On a phone, the Share button usually has a "Copy link" option.
2. Paste the link into the box at the top of this page. The Paste button does it for you.
3. Press Download. After a moment you'll see the title, the thumbnail and the list of qualities.
4. Tap Download next to the quality you want, and your browser saves the file.

Which ThisVid links work

Paste the link to a single public video, with or without www., and with or without https://. These are the link types the tool accepts:

Use the full link from the address bar. Shortened links, or links copied out of a chat, sometimes lose part of the address.

What you get: every quality, M4A audio and the thumbnail

• Every available quality. One row per version of the video, so you can pick a smaller file when you're on mobile data or short on storage.
• Audio only. Want just the sound? Save it as an M4A file. We copy the audio track out of the video without re-encoding it, so nothing is lost.
• The thumbnail. Save the preview image as a regular picture file.
• No files stored. Files stream from ThisVid through our server straight to your device. We don't keep a copy.
• Any device. It works in a normal browser on Android, iPhone, Windows, Mac and Linux. You can also add it to your home screen and use it like an app.

Video quality and file size

The HD or HQ version comes first when the video has one, and the smaller versions follow. Each row shows its file size when the size is available. Videos save as MP4. Nothing is re-encoded, so the quality is exactly what ThisVid serves.

Watch ThisVid videos offline

Streaming is fine until the signal drops. With a saved copy you can watch on a train, on a flight or anywhere the connection is patchy, and you don't use up your data a second time. Saving only the audio is just as handy for clips you'd rather listen to than watch.

Where the file ends up depends on your device. On Android it usually goes to the Downloads folder. On an iPhone or iPad, Safari usually saves it to the Files app under Downloads. On a computer it goes to your browser's downloads folder.

ThisVid download not working? Quick fixes

Most problems come down to a link that is old or wrong. These are the messages you may see, and what to do about each.

• "This download link has expired…" Download links last up to 1 hour. Paste the video link again and press Download for a fresh set.
• "Too many requests…" You reached the fair-use limit for your connection. Wait a moment and try again.
• "Nothing was found at that link…" The video may have been removed, or the link is wrong. Copy it again from the address bar.
• "This video is private…" Only public videos work, by design. We don't try to get around privacy settings.
• "This video has no audio track to extract." There's no audio track it can copy out, so download the video instead.
• The download doesn't start. Check whether your browser blocked it and allow it, or try another browser. Big HD files take a while, so keep the tab open until the browser says the download is finished.

Online tool vs browser extensions and desktop apps

Each approach suits a different job.

• ThisVidSave: nothing to install, free, no account, and it works on phones. The trade-offs are that links expire within 1 hour and you save one video at a time.
• Extensions and desktop apps: some can save several videos at once or record, but they need installing, some charge for a license, and many don't run on phones.

If you want one file right now on whatever device you have, a web page is the lighter option. If you save videos in bulk, an app may suit you better.

How ThisVidSave works and who runs it

ThisVidSave is an independent tool and isn't affiliated with ThisVid. When you paste the link to a public video, our server reads that video's public page to find its title, thumbnail and files. When you pick a download, the file streams from ThisVid through our Cloudflare server to your device. Video files aren't stored or re-encoded, and there are no accounts. If you accept the cookie banner, we use Google Analytics to count visits. The privacy policy has the details, and the terms of use cover what you can and can't do with the service.

Why do download links expire?

They are signed links that stay valid for up to 1 hour, so an old link can't be reused later. Paste the video link again for a fresh set.

Is there a download limit?

There's no daily cap. There is a fair-use rate limit per connection that keeps the service fast for everyone, and if you reach it you only need to wait a moment.

Is it legal to download video from ThisVid?
